Over 800,000 eligible, low-income New Yorkers don't receive critical food, health, and income benefits.
ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN
In January 2017, in partnership with other public, corporate, and non-profit organizations, we launched a bold, poverty-fighting campaign to unlock as much as $500 million in government funds for struggling New Yorkers. The campaign aims to help the 800,000 people who aren’t receiving the benefits for which they’re eligible. The funds come from the following programs:
- Helps low- and moderate-income families keep food on the table.
BENEFIT: Can be worth more than $5,580 annually.
- Protects the health of expecting and new mothers and children under 5.
BENEFIT: Pays for food and formula potentially worth more than $1,800 annually.
- EITC: Tax credit and refund for low- and moderate-income workers (even those making less than $11,000 a year).
CTC: Tax credit and refund for families to offset the expenses of raising children.
BENEFIT:EITC: Refunds as large as $4,000.
CTC: Can be worth as much as $1,000 per child.
